“The land that surrounds us is part of who we are; it reflects our histories.” -The Native Governance Center

OUR INDIgenous land acknowledgement

We acknowledge that this land we call Coralville, Iowa is the homeland of many Indigenous people. The food pantry exists on land that was stolen from the Sovereign Nations of Meskwaki, Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, Ioway, and Kickapoo. Indigenous people are not relics of the past, as The Native Governance Center reminds us. Join us in learning more about our neighbors and celebrate who they are and the contributions they have provided in the face of violence, oppression, and colonialism.

Please consider making a financial contribution to Great Plains Action Society, a crucial Indigenous led organization based in Iowa.
