Gather with friends and neighbors on the library lawn for a free, locally-sourced, summertime meal provided by the Coralville Community Food Pantry and the Coralville Public Library. on Friday September 21 from 5-7pm. Enjoy family activities and live music on the lawn. If the weather is bad, the meal and all events will be moved inside the library.

Join us Friday, September 28 for the 1st Annual 4-Person Scramble at the Brown Deer Golf Club.  All proceeds benefit the Coralville Community Food Pantry.

Fight hunger with your feet!

Who - The Coralville Community Food Pantry
What - 6th annual Food Run 5k & 10k run/walk
When - Sunday, October 28 | 9AM
Where - Coralville Youth Sports Complex (2480 Dempster Rd, Coralville)
Why - With each Food Run entry fee, you provide food for a family in need for an entire month.

More Details:
The race route will start and end at the Coralville Youth Sports Complex, using wide sidewalks to tour scenic neighborhoods in NE Coralville. Click here to see the 10k route. Click here for the 5k route. Prizes will be awarded to first place male and female finishers for the following categories: 8-under, 9-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. The race will be chip-timed!

Registration is $25/person, which includes an event t-shirt (if registered by October 12) as well as food and drinks after the event. Groups of 4+ can register for $20/person. Children age 5 and under participate at no cost. A free ½ mile Fun Run for all ages will take place after the 5k race. 

100% of proceeds will directly benefit the Coralville Community Food Pantry.

5th Street Social & Food Pantry Open House

Celebrate the end of summer with music, food, children’s activities, a classic car show, local brews, and more at Coralville’s 5th Street Social on Saturday, August 11!

During the 5th Street Social, the food pantry will be offering scoops of Heyn’s Ice Cream for $2/scoop out in our parking lot. We will also be giving walk-thru tours of the pantry. Our goal is to meet our neighbors, raise funds, and give people an opportunity to see and learn more about the work we do to reduce hunger in Coralville.

Wiffle Ball Tournament

Does your team have what it takes to bring home the fourth-annual Step Up To The Plate Wiffle Ball Tournament trophy? Start assembling your All-Star squad and get ready for a fun-filled, semi-competitive day of strikes, pop flies, and home runs all in the name of hunger-relief.

Hy-Vee will be providing pulled-pork sandwiches, chips, & a drink for purchase, with proceeds going to the pantry. Participants are encouraged to bring snacks, beverages, and lawn chairs or blankets. Portable restrooms are provided. 

REGISTRATION INFO
Registration is $100 per team. Payment will be due the morning of the tournament. All proceeds will be donated to the Coralville Community Food Pantry. Please make checks out to Coralville Community Food Pantry.

Teams must consist of at least 7 people, but no more than 10. This tournament embraces diversity, so each team must have at least 2 members of a gender/sex different than the majority of the team (i.e. 8 females + 2 males...8 males + 2 females...5 males + 5 females...get it?). Each team will play at least 3 games.

The tournament will once again be held at the amazing Wiffle Ball Field in Springville, Iowa.

Music for Meals ft. Elizabeth Moen

Elizabeth Moen, an Iowa musical legend-in-the-making, will headline this year's "Music for Meals" benefit concert--an event designed to raise vital funds needed to help the Coralville Community Food Pantry continue to transform Coralville into a place that is free of hunger. 

Guests will enjoy food, drinks (wine & beer available for purchase), a stellar silent auction, and live music showcasing the likes of Moen and other talented local artists. This year's event will be held at North Ridge Pavilion in Coralville, to create a more intimate atmosphere.

Tickets are $20/person. Groups of 8 can reserve a VIP Table for $200, which includes 8 complimentary drink tickets, and 8 silent auction $5 coupons.

Free Community Meal

On Friday, February 9 from 5:30-7:00pm, the Coralville Community Food Pantry will host a free Community Meal at the Coralville Rec Center.

The meal, which will showcase healthy and affordable ingredients, will be prepared by several community volunteers using the Coralville United Methodist Church kitchen. Several fun activities for kids, including a bounce house, giant yard games, and a stuffed animal walk, will be provided by Coralville Parks & Recreation staff in the Rec Center main gym.

The goal of the meal is to provide a free and delicious meal while creating a greater sense of solidarity among Coralville residents. In 2017, the food pantry held three community meals—two at the Coralville Public Library and one at the Coralville Rec Center.  

All Coralville residents are invited to attend the meal. For those interested in assisting with cooking, serving, set-up, or clean-up, sign up below:

Community Meal

Gather with friends and neighbors on Friday, September 29 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Coralville Public Library for a free Community Meal.

CPL and the Coralville Community Food Pantry will be on the Library front lawn serving up a locally-sourced taco dinner with all of the fixin's as well as an array of home-baked apple desserts. In addition to the meal, we will have live music, face painting, a book walk, and other family activities. In the case of bad weather, the meal and all events will be moved inside the Library.
